A holistic nutritionist is a health professional who promotes overall well-being by considering the interconnectedness of various aspects of an individual's life, including diet, lifestyle, emotions, and physical health. Holistic nutritionists go beyond just analyzing the nutritional content of food; they take a more comprehensive approach to help clients achieve optimal health.
Here are some areas we may work together on:
Nutritional Assessments
Personalized Nutrition Plans
Whole Food Emphasis
Nutrient Balance
Lifestyle Recommendations
Mind-Body Connection
Digestive Health
Education and Guidance
Detoxification Programs
Blood Work Analysis
Support for Specific Body Systems
It's important to note that nutrition consulting is not a substitute for medical or mental health care. Instead, it complements traditional healthcare by focusing on nutrition and lifestyle factors to improve overall health.
Blood/Lab PANEL review
The reference ranges for lab values are commonly established using the data from the current adult population. According to the CDC, 6 in 10 adults have one chronic disease, and 4 in 10 have two or more chronic diseases (https://www.cdc.gov/chronicdisease/about/index.htm), so you can see why using the standard ranges for blood work that includes data of unhealthy individuals would not be optimal.
In contrast, Functional and Holistic Medicine adopts a different approach by utilizing optimal ranges based on averages from a genuinely healthy population, narrowing the reference window. This method facilitates a more accurate interpretation of results, enabling us to proactively address health concerns by focusing on reversing values that deviate from a genuinely "healthy" range.
